November Update and Thoughts

It has been a crazy last few months since last I wrote. I am getting closer and closer to July, where I graduate with a BA in Music with a jazz emphasis. I still play with my motley brothers in Mean Red Spyder, my classic jazz big band, teaching, and trying to do the other regular stuff "grown-ups" do.

As I write now I am waiting to do my next show of The Little Mermaid with the Idaho Falls Youth Arts Council. I was asked literally a few days before the show and asked if I could play percussion to cover for someone who could not do it suddenly. As a musician, or any professional really, it is a great place to confidently say yes to work opportunities that arise. All my years of practice as well as continuing to learn, maintain, and grow make it so I can be ready to play in many scenarios in limited time. So, what it comes down to I guess is never say no to work and always be prepared!
