Fun day of music!
Today was a fun (and long) day. Got up early for work, which is difficult for me....I love sleep. Then I had the chance to play with my best friend and favorite musician, Kent Grover. I also got to play with another great friend, Wilson Brown. Wilson is an intriguing man. He has toured the world back in the 70's with the Lettermen and is an unoffical member of the Wrecking Crew (the studio musicians behind all the great albums of the 60's 70's). He then came here to teach at Ricks College and BYU-I. The thing that is weird is that it seems like many of my peers don't know how cool he is, what he has done, and what he has to offer through his stories. He is one of my dearest friends and mentors and I am honored to be his friend.
After playing with Kent, I got to play with the Jazz House Big Band. It is always a pleasure to play big band music. Both gigs were for the same company that hosted two different parites so that they could fit a mass amount of people in a smaller space. It was funny to find out today that I was playing all day for the same company.
Anyways, bedtime.
